More Connected...more caring?

Answer the following in 150 words: Now that we are more connected to one another, does it make us care more for one another? Why or why not?

It all depends on every single human being. Some people care more when they are more connected, however some people will never care. Some people are just too busy, or they just simply don’t have time. If we care it is our personal choice. Being more connected doesn’t necessary mean that we are more carrying. We can care only about people who are important to us. We all care about friends and family, but some people care also about completely strange people. We will always care about close people. If we care about people living thousands kilometers away it all depends on us. Being more connected makes us possibly care more about more people, but I think it is impossible to care about everyone. I agree that being more connected means caring about more. But it is important to remember that we cannot make generalizations, it all depends on our personal choices. What we do is up to us.

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't. We are more connected but look. How many of your friends actually called you instead of writing wishes on Facebook? Maybe we are more connected but it doesn't mean that we care more. We care less. We have ability to care more but we don't use it. Actually what connection allows you? Mostly to connect to other people but it cannot affect how much we care about them. If someone’s care about others he won’t care less or more if he has better connection to them, he can only show that he care a lot using connection.
In my opinion, people nowadays, as they are more connected, care more for one other. Of course, not all of them. However, there are many different social groups that appeared in 21th whose main point is to help and protect people. Previously, in 20th the only who was caring about people was government. And if they said or did something nobody could prevent their actions. The government was solving all the problems that are connected with people. But now, as people become more connected they are trying to solve some problems by them selves. As they are not alone, as Internet is huge, it becomes so much easier for them actually to do something. That is why people are so connected and caring about one other.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion this video is not directly inter connected with media communication, it is more about peoples feelings and how if they are connected with the same idea/passion they are capable of many great thing, they help each other and care for the common goal they pushes them to success. Art is one of the very powerful tools of transferring information and especially feelings. Though art people transfer their personality and soul. In my opinion this is what RJ’s project was about, his aim was to connect people with a common goal that was going to be a reflection of a free powerful society. And I think it was very good idea. The technology that was used for it was just a helpful tool of transferring the material, but in my opinion people didn’t star caring more about each other because of the Internet.
ReplyDeleteI think social medial are very helpful for staying in touch with each other, especially with you relatives and close friends. If your children are studying abroad you may easily contact with them any time. I don't want to say much about how the internet may be useful. The only thing I want to say that it is something new and almost became an essential part of life of each of us.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the world without the internet? It have almost replaced books, post, quick talks on the phone etc.
I think that it makes us care more for one another because we can understand people better. Internet allows us to see things that we would never be aware of. The organization ‘Turning World Inside Out’ wants to make sure that everyone knows that they all people are equal. The action involves printing portraits of people and hanging them around the city. All they need is some glue, paper and people with a lot of empathy for other human beings. Actions like that allow people identify with others, understand that overall in spite of different culture, ideas, genders, age and race we are all the same, and we should stick to that. Internet helps to spread ideas such as the one above, due to that the event had been held all around the world, and it keeps gaining the support. As the leader said that they might not change the world but they can certainly change lives of individuals what overall leads to global changes.
ReplyDeleteMy response to this question would be not necessarily. Personally, I think that this idea can be seen from different aspects. At first, I thought that definitely the ability to connect with people faster and easier makes us care for one another more. However, on the other hand, it doesn’t make us care more rather than it helps us to show that we care about each other. At the time when we didn't have possibility to get in touch very often with people who are far away. It didn't mean that we forgot about them or we didn't care about them. There was just no way how to show and express your love, care and support. I believe that people we care about the most will be important for us no matter whether we are connected or not. They still take the biggest part in our hearts.

ReplyDeleteWhen we know more about each other we understand each other better. The more painful it becomes to attack each other.
Its easy to attack an unknown enemy, or to make rumors about them. But attacking a known friend is much more difficult and your more likely to sort things out with them.
Same works in reverse. Your more likely to help somebody you know then somebody you don’t.
Thus the internet, the tool of connection is obviously helping us get connected.
